Brazil is a large country: the fifth large of the world. So, is a little bit difficult to visit this country. But, there are many fantastic cities to visit in travels. In 2011, I traveled to Pernambuco with my friends to participate of the academic congress. We stayed in Olinda, located in Recife’s Metropolitan Region. In 1982, Olinda was the second Brazilian city considered humanity’s patrimony by ONU. Of course, it’s a wonderful city.

| Vision of the high point of historic center |
In a week, we visited the Olinda’s touristic places as Nossa Senhora do Carmo’s Church, São Bento’s Church, historic center and the popular “ladeiras”, that in Carnival are crowed because there are very “foliões” playing with the famous Olinda’s Dolls. Our hostel was cheap and comfortable: R$ 35 for day. We met people from many Brazilian cities: Salvador, Curitiba, Cuiabá and Fortaleza. About food, it was delicious because the northeast’s food is very good.

One night, we had a surprise: in city, it was realized a popular
music festival. In this moment, we saw the children dancing frevo. A
good experience, sure. In Olinda, we found history, friendly people, good
music and delicious food. A day, I would like to go back to the
fantastic Olinda. Maybe, I’ll sing the music “Voltei, Recife! Foi a
saudade que me trouxe pelo braço. Quero ver novamente vassoura na rua
abafando, tomar umas e outras e cair no passo!”

My mom is from Pernambuco. I traveled there when I was 5 years old. I really miss it.
